Crunch time! The new space opens tomorrow! Lots of things coming together in the days leading up to September 1st:
Kickstarter Success!
Thanks to the amazing support of 256 people, we raised $17,911 on Kickstarter! This money will be a critical part of our cash flow as we finish construction and ramp up operations in our new space. In a few days, we’ll set out to begin fulfilling our obligations to our backers, sending out stickers, shirts, setting up “mayor for a day” dates, karaoke parties, and much more.
We’re really excited that we now have a chance to start giving back, and we’re going to do so in a big way!
Kickoff Party!
Last Friday, we gathered to celebrate our impending opening of the new space this week and to send out our Kickstarter project in style. Hundreds of some of the coolest people in the city were in attendance, and many good times were had!

Beta Opening - September 1st
We open for business tomorrow! The fact that we’ve made it this far is huge unto itself— we’ve still got a lot of kinks to work out, some large (we don’t really have a kitchen yet), some small (still working on some trim and detailing).
NWC 2.0 was designed to be continuously improved and reorganized, especially during the next few days and weeks. Bear with us if things don’t work exactly as planned just yet— it will take a little while to settle in.
Regardless, the space is beautiful and will be open for business tomorrow!
New Partnership With Pearson!
We’re very proud to announce a new launch partner, Pearson! Pearson (www.pearson.com) is a global leader in education, business information and book publishing with a growing digital product portfolio. They have a wide range of businesses that you’ve heard of, including the Financial Times, Penguin Books, eCollege, Prentice Hall, Poptropica… and many more.
We’re going to be working closely with them to develop some great programs over the next several months, including feedback sessions and panel discussions focused on the future of publishing.
They’ll be active participants in the community, too. A few folks from Pearson will be joining us as members in the new space. .
We’re hugely excited about this new partnership and looking forward to doing some great things with them!

We are a much bigger family now, and we all have a shared interest in making NWC what we want it to be.
