Becca here, the newest addition to the NWC crew. I’m working with Tony and Peter on prepping the new space, and it’s really coming together! We just got back from a design meeting, and it looks like everything is starting to fall into place. The brick wall has been exposed, wood floors finished, and painter’s tape laid down. While dimensions and layouts are still being adjusted, and likely will be until opening day, the basic design has been chosen and the future home of NWC is not far from looking like one.
In between discussions of inches, watts and wires, we considered the range of creative opportunities we could seize upon in order to spice up the place. (One idea: nerf ball curtain instead of glass sliding door. Overruled.) On one hand, you never know what kind of found objects you can re-purpose to give a space some character. On the other hand, we judged that the 3 huddle rooms and 2 bathrooms leave ample room for imagination! So, we need your ideas. Tony’s already collected a few ideas for the huddle room spaces — a few of my favorites:

We are serious about finding themes for the huddle rooms in particular, as we fear that individual enclosed spaces can be depressing. So tweet your ideas to @tonybgoode or shoot me an email at rebecca AT nwcny.com!
Additionally, let us know if you find interesting pieces you think would suit the new space (i.e., mirrors for the bathrooms). We are starting to search over the weekend.
